Introduction: How to Remotely Shutdown Computers Within a Network

What will you need:

*A network with internet access that allows access to file sharing sites
* A file sharing account (such as mediafire)
*Basic computer skills
*Notepad
*A computer at home with internet access

Step 1: Make a Batch Script and Save It

On your home computer, open notepad or other text editor (such as notepad++)
Type or copy and paste the following:

shutdown /i

then click save as and save it as a .bat file





Step 2: Upload to a File Sharing Site

Upload your .bat file to your file sharing account.


Step 3: Download and Run

Now download your .bat file by logging in to your file sharing account and clicking download.

Step 4: Run It

Now run the .bat file you downloaded. And you should get a dialog, click add then type in the name of the computer you want to shut down and click  ok.But before you click ok please read the disclaimer below:

1. I don't see a remote shutdown dialog

* did you type in the code posted in step 1? ;check against the code posted in step one with the one you typed.

2.I got an error message  saying "access denied"

*in this case the computer you want to shutdown must allow remote access

* This tutorial teaches you about using batch scripts and also command prompt commands such as shutdown

4. I still don't get how you did it?
