Introduction: How to Survive the IV
As for me, I've had MANY IVS. They aren't any fun.
Step 1: Talk With the Nurse
Talk to the nurse and ask if you can get it on your hand you don't use. If they do the arm DEFINITELEY CHANGE IT TO THE HAND ARM IS PAINFUL!
Step 2: Cold Spray
Cold Spray is a liquid that nums the area slightly. I'll warn you it is VERY COLD!
Step 3: Friends
Friends is a definite. Get them to sit on the bed and bury your face into them and hold their hand.
Step 4: Birthday Cake
Look away from the nurse. Breath in and out. Once the sharp pain comes blow like you're blowing the candles out on a cake.
