Introduction: Image Acquisition in NI Vision Assistant
Open up Vision Assistant. If the setup is the same, there should be a shortcut on the desktop.
Step 1: Make the Image From the CCD Camera Viewable in NI Vision Assistant
- Once the program is open, you should make sure that the "Acquire Image" option is chosen in the upper right hand corner.
- Then on the left side, choose the second option which allows you to use a Gigabit Ethernet connection.
- Then choose Pi640-210gc.
- Hit the blue play button. An image should appear, it may look different than ours.
Step 2: Acquiring a Single or Sequence of Images
At any time, you may click the box with the 6 smaller boxes inside of it to save the image that you see, to the browser.
If you wish to capture a video, or sequence of images, you will first want to check the fps settings.
- This can be done by clicking on the "attributes" tab.
Step 3: Change FPS Settings
Once in the "attributes" tab, click on "Acquisition Trigger" so that more options drop down. From this drop down menu, there will be a setting called "AcquisitionFrameRateAbsolute". Click on this and input your desired frames per second.
From here you can click on the video roll back in the "main" tab and declare how many frames you would like to acquire.
Once you are at the point at which you would like to save your images, hit the "close" button I have marked in red.
Step 4: Saving Your Images
Once you have exited the data acquisition menu, you will have the option to select "Browse Images" in the upper right. Select it. Then hit the save button in the upper left and you will get a pop-up.
Choose a folder you would like to save the images in, and give the images a root name. Anything will do.
Great! You have saved your images as bitmap files!
