Introduction: Lamb and Orzo Stew
This was a strange one for me as I have never made this kind of stew before, and I have definitely never made anything in a Slow Cooker!
So here is what you need for a Lamb and Orzo Stew:
Ingredients
1kg shoulder of lamb
2 onions , sliced
1 tbsp chopped oregano , or 1 tsp dried
½ tsp ground cinnamon
2 cinnamon sticks , broken in half
2 tbsp olive oil
400g can chopped tomatoes
1.2l hot chicken or vegetable stock
400g orzo (see know-how below)
freshly grated parmesan , to serve

Step 1:
First chop up your vegetables, I added mushrooms and carrots as a personal preference.
Then make your vegetable stock. Around 5-6 stock cubes will do it.
Add the vegetables to the slow cooker along with the lamb. Then add the chopped tomatoes along with some garlic and two cinnamon sticks.
Finally pour the vegetable stock over it and leave on medium in a slow cooker for around 4 hours.
After 4 hours add some orzo and stir.
Leave this for around 2 more hours.

Step 2:
Meanwhile, make your salad.
I chose to do this minimalistically by adding lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese and olive oil.
I also added a hint of red wine vinegar.

Step 3:
After around 4-6 hours on medium heat, its all ready!
You can have this with crusty bread too.
Of course i you don't have a slow cooker you can cook the first part in a large pot and cook on a medium heat. :)
