Introduction: Laser Cut House Sign
I was hanging out at Techshop on Friday trying to figure out what I wanted to make, when I remembered the cute little sign I saw outside of a cottage in Berkeley that said "Rose Cottage". I had been saying before that my cottage should have a name with a cute little sign, so I decided to finally make one!
I made this at Techshop in SF!
First I started looking at different shapes for house signs. From there I just had to decide on my text and then I put in a cute little design I liked.
You have to decide how you are going to hang it before you laser cut it. I knew I would be hanging it on a fence so I thought it was best to put in two small circles, one on each side, for hanging. I just used a bit of twine tied to the two holes.
Also, the end result was about 12 inches by 7 inches.
I put on a couple layers of Polycrylic to protect it from the weather, before putting it out.
And there you have it! A nice and easy house sign :)
