Leather Needles Homemade

You will need an old wind shield wiper.Take it apart and remove one of the steel strips. Then use wire cutters or pliers to cut off about 1 1/2 " ( 3 to 4 cm.)

Step 1: Flatten One End.

Heat one end of the strip with a propane torch and hammer it on an anvil until it looks wide enough to drill a 3/32 " hole in it.

Step 2: Use a Centre Punch.

Before drilling the 3/32 hole be sure to centre punch the location first to keep your drill from sliding around.

Step 3: Drill the Hole and Grind the Point.

Use vise grips to hold the strip while drilling the hole. Then grind a point on the other end.

Step 4: Storage

Use string , thread or what ever you would like to sew with and store the needle in an old wine bottle cork for safety.
