Introduction: Make Your Own Bath Soak

I love home made gifts. I wanted to come up with a way to package home made bath soak so it was more giftable and pretty. I had almost all of these items on hand, and you might too. I hunted down the tubes in Etsy and they were affordable and the seller was great to buy from. I love the way this came out!

Here's what you'll need to get started on this project:

Tubes of any side or material that you'd like. I got mine from DK DeleKtables on Etsy. They are plastic with a screw on metal topper.

Epsom salt

Food coloring-any colors you want. In the photos you'll see three different colors. I used yellow, blue and red and green food coloring.

Essential oil-any "flavor" you want. I used orange.

Bowls and spoons for mixing. I used plastic spoons so I could throw them away when I was done.

This is really super simple. Measure out the quantity of Epsom salt you need into a bowl. Add one drop of food coloring at a time until you get the color you want. It take a minute of mixing before the color fully develops on the salts.

Lastly, add your essential oils. Pour the mixture into the tubes, label and you're ready to gift!

To use these bath soaks, you can either pour them into a hot bath OR use them as a refreshing foot bath. Epsom salts have muscle relaxing and purifying properties. They are inexpensive to purchase and readily available at drugstores and stores like Target.

I love the tubes because it gives the soak a unique feel and it's easy to put into a gift basket. They can be customized for the recipients' scent and color preferences. These would also make great teacher gifts!
