Introduction: Making a Clock With a Hard Disk!!!😁😁😁

I made a table clock with a hard disk!

A digital clock was added to an analog clock that was difficult to read by adding additional parts such as Arduino nano, RTC module, OLED , and RGB module.

By displaying the time with OLED, the inconvenience of analog was eliminated, and digital sensibility was saved by using a watch movement.

Step 1: Disassemble the Hard Disk and Take Out the Hard Disk

Loosen the screw on the hard disk using an electronic device disassembly tool and take out the donut-shaped hard disk.

I used a thoshiba MK5059GSXP hard disk.

What looks like a round donut is hard

Step 2: Attach the Clock Movement

The clock movement is attached to the back of the hard disk.

If the shaft of the movement does not fit into the hole of the hard disk, it must be replaced.

This part is especially long and difficult.

Step 3: Insert Clock Hands

Put the hard disk back in place .

And insert the second hand, minute hand, and hour hand.

Use an instant adhesive to attach it more firmly.

However, if you use too much adhesive, the bond may flow and the needle may not turn, so be careful when inserting it.

Step 4: Build an Electronic Circuit

The sensors and actuators used are OLED Module, RGB Module, RTC Module, Arduino Nano, and mini Breadboard.

Step 5: Securing Parts

Secure the parts in place with double-sided tape.

I added a 9v battery and a battery case as an external power source.

This 9v battery holder also has a switch so you can turn it on and off.

Step 6: Turn on the Switch

Now turn on the switch and apply voltage and you are done.
