Introduction: Messy Bun Hat

Messy bun hats are something that have been becoming more popular lately and with winter coming we need something to keep us warm! For those of you with a lot of hair this hat is the way to go.

I made this pattern I hope it is easy for all of you to follow. Please ask questions if you have any!

Step 1: Materials/ Skill

Materials:

Yarn

Scissors

Crochet hook

Skill:

easy crochet level.

slip stitch

chain

half double crochet

Step 2: Starting the Hat

To begin this hat you must first make a slip knot and then chain approximately 15. Measure the chain and make sure it's about 6 inches long. If it's not quite 6 inches make adjustments by adding/ decreasing a few stitches.

Step 3: Making the Circle/ Row 1

slip stitch into the first stitch you made. and chain 2

half double crochet in first stitch

2 half double crochet in 2nd stitch

1 half double crochet in 3rd stitch

2 in next

continue until end of row

Step 4: Row 2


Slip stitch into first stitch of the row and chain 2

hdc (half double crochet) 1 in each of the first 2 stitches

hdc 2 in the 3rd stitch

hdc 1 in each of the next 2 stitches

hdc 2 in next

continue until end of row

Step 5: Row 3

Slip Stitch in first stitch and then chain 2

Hdc 1 in each of the first 3 stitches

hdc 2 in the 4th stitch

hdc 1 in each of the next 3

hdc 2 in next

continue until end of row

Step 6: Row 4

Slip Stitch in first stitch and chain 2

Hdc 1 in each of the next 4 stitches

Hdc 2 in the 5th stitch

Hdc 1 in each of the next 4

Hdc 2 in next

Continue until end of row

Step 7: Row 5

Slip stitch in first stitch of row and chain 2

Hdc 1 in each of the next 5

Hdc 2 in the 6th

Hdc 1 in each of the next 5

Hdc 2 in next

Continue all the way around

Step 8: Creating Length

Slip stitch in first stitch, chain 2 and then Hdc 1 in every stitch all the way around

continue with 1 Hdc in every stitch for every row until you have 8 inches worth of length.

When long enough slipstitch into the first stitch of the row and create a knot.

Step 9: And That Is All.
