Introduction: Mini Lawnmower, Mowing Your Lawn Will Never Be the Same!

About: I am a middle school art teacher. I love teaching kids, and anyone who wants to make art.

So you need a new lawnmower, here’s the one for you! Cuts like a dream!

Supplies

You will need…

Mini drone motor (this drone did not work), a drill with a small bit, glue gun, dykes, soldering iron and solder, 4 toy car wheels, 4 small penny nails, a larger binder clip, a momentary switch, assorted plastic containers that can be cut with scissors, box cutter (not pictured) a AAA battery (not pictured).

Step 1: Make the Deck

Cut out a 3” square piece of plastic. The edges are 1/2” all around. Score the plastic and fold on the areas marked in red, these are the tabs, hot glue them to the sides.

Step 2: Add the Wheels

Drill a hole that is smaller than the penny nail. Put the nail through the wheel and push it through the hole in the deck. Nip off the excess nail and hot glue it into place.

Step 3: Motor Placement

Remove one motor from the drone. Cut a hole in the deck to fit the motor. Hot glue the motor into place.

Solder a wire onto the two electrical connection points of the motor. Solder one wire to the negative terminal of the battery. (Note: you want to motor to blow down, you will need to have that figured out before connecting the wires.) Connect a separate longer wire to the positive terminal of the battery.

When you are done soldering the battery, hot glue it to the deck.

Step 4: The Switch

Glue the handle (binder clip arm) into place behind the battery.

Solder the momentary switch into the circuit. Cut out a plastic plate that fits the handle, hot glue it into place. Make a hole in the plate to fit the momentary switch. I used my soldering iron to make the hole. Fit the switch into place.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

Cut out the discharge area. Add a cover over the motor and battery and/or some metal parts.😁

Now get out there and mow the lawn!
