About: Human who loves learning from others and sharing what she knows

Greetings Food Fans,

Do you like egg custard pie???

Well allow me to introduce you to the easiest egg custard pie you will EVER make.

Step 1: What Will You Need to Buy...

  • Shortening
  • Sugar
  • Plain Flour
  • Melted Butter
  • Eggs
  • Evaporated milk
  • Vanilla
  • Nutmeg

Step 2: What You Will Need From Your Kitchen...

  • A measuring spoon
  • A measuring cup
  • A mixing bowl
  • A pie pan
  • A hand mixer (not pictured)

Step 3: Set Your Oven...

You will want your oven heated up to a nice 350 degrees. Always preheat so that when you get everything mixed together, it will be ready to pop into the oven.

Step 4: Prepare Your Pan...

Before I start mixing the ingredients, you need to prepare you pan. Grab a paper towel and get some shortening, I choose Crisco brand. Coat the pan with a thin layer then sprinkle some flour over top the shortening and swirl it around until it adheres to the shortening. Set it to the side.

Step 5: Mixing Up the Ingredients

This is one of the easiest desserts you will ever make. You add the following ingredients in one bowl and one time.

You will mix up...

1 cup of sugar

3 tablespoons of flour

2 tablespoons of melted butter

3 eggs

1 (12 ounce) can of evaporated milk

1 teaspoon of vanilla

Once you have combined your ingredients, mix away.

Step 6: Pour Into Your Pan and Bake

Once everything is well blended, pour it into your pie pan, sprinkle it with nutmeg and pop it into the oven for 40 to 45 minutes.

Step 7: Checking Your Pie

Time for that old bakers trick.... The TOOTHPICK TEST.

To check and see if you pie is done, stick a toothpick in the center, if it comes out clean, pie is done.

Step 8: Enjoy the Excellent Egg Custard Pie...

When you slice into the pie, you will notice that a crust has formed on the bottom of the pie. Now enjoy, might I suggest with a cup of coffee??

Psst.... It is great for sharing also.

Peace!!!
