Introduction: Paper Throwing-darts

About: I make weapons, and other things...

Hey guys, so for the 7th and last day of Paper Week, I'll be showing you how to make simple paper throwing-darts.

These are great fun to use, as they fly straight, no matter how you throw them; overarm, underarm, behind the back, between the legs etc.

As always, please be careful using these, NEVER throw them at another person or animal. I accept no responsibility for any damage to person or property that may occur through using these.

Apart from all that, have fun :-)

Step 1: Gathering Materials

To make 2 of these darts, you will need:

  • 4 chewing gums
  • 2 pushpins
  • 1 sheet of A4 size paper

You will also need a pair of scissors.

Step 2: Folding

Fold the paper in half and unfold it, cut it in half along the fold, then fold the corners of each half, to the sides, as shown in pic 3.

Step 3: Step 2

Cut off the rectangles from the top of the paper, to leave you with perfect squares.

Fold the square in half to make a rectangle, then unfold again. Then fold in half to make a triangle, then unfold again. Fold it back into a rectangle. Next, take one of the the top corners and pull it down into the middle, then repeat on the other side. Sorry if it sounds a bit complicated, origami is not my strong-point.

Now fold out the tips to form a star shape as shown in pic 5.

Step 4: Step 3

Unfold the paper, stick 2 chewed chewing-gums in the center, stick the pushpin through the gum, and fold it back into a star.

Step 5: The End

So that's it, to throw these, hold them just behind the tip and throw with a flick of the wrist.
