Introduction: Paracord Watch With Duct Tape

This is a tutorial in which I will show you how to make a watch band with paracord and duct tape.

Step 1: Supplies

You need:
-a watch without a band
-duct tape
-a paracord buckle
-paracord
-a scissors
-a pen or pencil
-a lighter
-scrap paper(at least two inches long and wide)
-paracord jig (optional but much easier to make if you use it)
-a way to measure your wrist (I used a piece of paracord that was around 10 inches long)

Step 2: Measuring

Measure your wrist, then cut a piece of duct tape a little shorter, or the same length of your wrist. Shorter if you are using 15mm buckles. Same length if you are using 11mm buckles.

Step 3: The Watch Face

Make a circle the size of your watch face. Cut it out then center it on your tape as shown above. Cut out the circle on the tape.

Step 4: Taping the Watch

Place the tape on the watch, then cut the tape. cut around the buttons.

Step 5: The Watch Band Thickness

Fold the tape below the cuts in half. Tape the tape onto the ends.

Step 6: The Bottom Tape Piece

Cut a piece of tape the same length as the last one. cut it in half and place it on the bottom of the watch band.

Step 7: Cut Your String

Cut your string. It will need to be significantly longer than your normal length that you do for a regular bracelet.

Step 8: Attaching the Tape to the String

This is where the jig comes in handy, but you don't need it. Take your buckle and attach the string. Then start tying the knots around the paracord and the tape.

Step 9: Finishing the Watchband

Tie your cord around the tape. I recommend the cobra braid as others will not cooperate with tape.

Step 10: Finishing Touches I

Burn the ends of your cord, and cut off excess tape.

Step 11: Finishing Touches II

Tape over buttons that stick out. If all your buttons are flush with the watch body, you can skip this step.
