Introduction: Pizza Taquitos Recipe
If I had to choose pizza or hamburgers I'd definitely choose pizza anyday. I guess you can say I'm a pizza kind of girl. Today I want to show you how to make Pizza Taquitos, they are garlic, cheesy and full of Pepperoni. I really like that you can play around with this recipe and add as much or as little of each ingredient. Also I used bigger tortillas, next time I'll use smaller ones because they are easier to fry and eat. So if you want to make your own Cheesy Garlicy Pizza Taquitos, then follow the step by step guide below or watch the video tutorial here:
Supplies
Step 1: Ingredients and Tools
Ingredients
- Frying Oil
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 Garlic Cloves (minced)
- ½ teaspoon dried Parsley
- 8 taco sized Flour Tortillas
- Package of Pepperoni Slices
- 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
- Jar of Pizza Sauce (for dipping)
Tools
Step 2: Heat Oil
Using a heavy bottomed pan, heat enough oil to come 1 inch up the sides of the pan over medium high heat. As oil is heating, add butter, garlic and parsley to a small saucepan.
Step 3: Melt Butter
Melt butter with garlic and parsley on medium heat until bubbly and fragrant.
Step 4: Brush Butter Onto Tortilla
Take saucepan with butter off stovetop. Using a brush or a spoon, spread the melted butter onto one side of each tortilla.
Step 5: Add Fillings
Add cheese and lay as many pepperoni slices as you'd like on top the cheese in a line.
Step 6: Roll Tortilla
Roll the tortilla tightly and using a toothpick secure the end in the middle.
Step 7: Fry Taquitos
In batches of two to three at a time, place taquitos seam side down carefully in the oil. Cook for about one minute on each side or until outside becomes golden all the way around.
Step 8: Remove From Oil
Remove from oil onto a paper towel lined plate. Once the Taquitos are done draining out the oil, add them to a serving platter. Warm up sauce of your choice in a small sauce pan and add it to a small serving dish.
Step 9: Enjoy!
Enjoy them warm with sauce!
