Introduction: Potato Donuts
These are not traditional donuts, they are salty. They are crunchy from outside and soft from inside. It is a deep frying recipe. Perfect for snack time.
Step 1: Materials
Material for dough:
White flour 2 cups
Ghee or butter 2 tablespoons
Salt 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds ½ tea spoon
Material for filling:
2 Medium sized potatoes
½ Teaspoon salt
¼ Teaspoon red chili powder
1/8 Teaspoon turmeric
1/8 Teaspoon coriander powder
Some fresh coriander leaves
Step 2: Making of Dough
Take 2 cups of white flour; add 1 teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon of cumin seeds in it. Mix them, add 2 tablespoon of ghee in it, and mix well until crumbled. Gradually add water to make dough. Cover the dough and leave it for half an hour.
Step 3: Making of Filling
Take 2 medium sized potatoes, mash ½ potato and cut the remaining in small cubes. Add ½ teaspoon salt , ¼ teaspoon red chili powder, 1/8 teaspoon turmeric, 1/8 teaspoon coriander powder and some fresh coriander leaves. Mix all of them.
Step 4: Making Shape
Take 6th part of the dough, flatten out the dough. Cut the sides to make a square. Make vertical lines on almost half of the square by cutting it. Place the filling on the part of the dough which is not cut. Roll the dough and join the sides to make the shape of donut. Make 6 donuts in total with this dough.
Step 5: Deep Frying
Heat up the oil, and deep fry the donuts on low flame. Our crispy and tasty donuts are ready.
