The F-word on TV. The Damned, Stranglers, X-Ray Spex. It seems tame now, but if you lived through it it was like being hit over the head with a brick, which was at the same time playing a guitar. We liked Genesis. We adored Yes and Pink Floyd. We knew that if you wanted to be in a band you had to be classically trained, and be at least grade 17 on the flute before you could even think about it.

Then it blew up in our faces. Music was never quite the same again.

Part of the punk scene was the dodgy stuff people wore. As a small tribute here is my take on that. Thank god my dad is no longer with us.

You will need:

Jump ring,Ear Wire
Scalpel Blade
Pliers
Abrasive surface of some kind

Step 1:

I had a couple of candidates here

The razor blade is a bit more Metal than Punk as it was on the cover of the Judas Priest album British Steel. Also it did not work so well due to the placing of the hole.

Also somehow the scalpel blade makes people cringe more. Remember Punk was about shock value.

Step 2: You Must Blunt the Blade

Only a moron (or a Goth) would walk round with a live scalpel blade in their ear.

Rub it on an oil stone or sandpaper until it is completely blunt.

Hey - some of you proffesional jewellery makers might want to watch and learn at this point. I have come come across some very sharp pieces in my time.

If you look carefully at the finished product, you can see I put some effort into on this to ake sure it was very well rounded.
