Introduction: Repair and Modify Different Types of Extension Electric Board
In this project, I am doing Refurbish, Repair and Modify of Different Types Extension Electric Board. We all have Extension Electric Boards at home but some of them are in a damaged condition so they need to repair or modify so don't throw them in the garbage. Now it is time to Refurbish, Repair and Modify the Extension Electric Board, here I am having three different types of Extension Electric Board which I will going to Repair.
The first one is a central body of the old circular electric board and I also need the Load Meter in my Lab to measure the power consumption of devices so I bought Digital Power Meter and attached it to the old switchboard and fitted it in 3D printed Body.
The second one is an old PC Extension Electric Board and it was not badly damaged so I repair it with new wiring, paints and Screws.
The third one is a simple Extension Electric Board which I am using in Lab for Machines but I always have to turn off things manually. Adding WiFi And Relay to the Extension Electric Board was a great thing to do with it and so that I can control any machine through WiFi.
Step 1: Load Meter
Load Meter is very helpful for measuring power consumption by electrical devices. This Load Meter can measures power load upto 23Kw energy.
Step 2: Materials
1) Old Circular electric board
2) Power Cord - 1.5m
3) PZEM-022 100A AC Digital Power Monitor Voltmeter Ammeter Frequency Factor Meter
4) Screw- 4 quantity (8mmx3mm)
Step 3: Design and Animation in Fusion360
Design And Animation In Fusion360.
Step 4: 3D Print
3D print all Parts.
Step 5: Clean Board and Paint It
Clean board first then paint it.
Step 6: Crimping Terminals of Wires
Crimping Terminals of power cord and CT.
Step 7: Rewire Board With New Wires
Rewire the Board With New Wires.
Step 8: Insert Meter and Board Into Body
Insert Meter And Board Into Body and glued it with super glue.
Step 9: Do Wiring for Meter and Board
Do the wire diagram as given on power meter.
Step 10: Phase Wire Should Go Through CT
Phase wire should go through CT. Complete all Wire Harness.
Step 11: Glue the CT to Body
Using Hot Glue Gun glued CT to the body.
Step 12: Close Back Lid With Screw
Close back Lid with screw
Step 13: Final Look!!!!! With Test Run

Step 14: Repair Old PC Extension Electric Board
Repairing old PC Extension Damage Electric board. This board is broken, no power cord, no switch and fuse. But still it can be repair.
Step 15: Get All Spare Parts for Electric Board
Switch, Fuse and Wire. Also 2 meter power cord with its Pin Top plug.
Step 16: Open and Remove Every Parts and Clean It
Dust everything after opening.
Step 17: Clean and Remove Any Taps on Body
Clean and remove any taps or glue on body.
Step 18: Paint the Body
Paint the body.
Step 19: Insert Switch and Fuse Holder
Insert switch and fuse holder
Step 20: Complete Wire Harness
Connecting phase wire to fuse then to switch.
Step 21: Insert Fuse and Test Electric Board
Insert the Fuse and test the electric board.
Step 22: Close Back Lid With Screw
Close back Lid with Screws and use superglue if screw thread are broken.
Step 23: Final Look!!!!
It was worthy to repair it instead throwing in garbage.

Step 24: Modifying the Extension Electric Board With WiFi Relay IoT
All we want is remote controlling of electrical switches by using WiFi Relay. Doing turn ON/OFF switches manually many times becomes hard for me in my Lab. So I use some relay modules with Esp8266 for WiFi controlling. All these electronic modules are fitted in the 3D Printed Box external to Extension Electric Board then on Plywood.
Also, this is the best option for the customization of the WiFi Extension Electric Board at an affordable price.
Step 25: Supplies
1) 2 channel Relay - 4 quantity
2) Esp8266
3) Screw (8mmx3mm) - 4 quantity
4) Wires
5) 5V adapter for Esp8266 (phone charger)
Step 26: 3D Print the Electronic Box
3D Print The Electronic Box.
Step 27: Rewire the Electric Board (wiring Direction)
Take two wires from all switches and insert in each relay to common pin and NO pin.
Noted: All Switches should remains close position for operating remotely.
Step 28: Wire Harness
The two wires from all switches and insert in each relay to common pin and NO pin.
And Data pin of all relay should go to there respectively assign pin of Esp8266. I am using 5v adapter to power up the Esp8266 externally.
Noted: I don't know IoT programming, that why I am sharing code here. But there many program codes available online you can use it.
Step 29: Close All Lids With Screws and Test Run It!!!!
The Result was Awesome now I can control all my machine through my phone.
