Introduction: Resin Necklace

For this resin necklace project you will need:

A necklace base of your choice

Charms, or any small decoration for the center

ICE Resin, or a clear resin of your choice

A flat surface for drying and toothpicks for popping air bubbles

A necklace chain or key-chain loop

Optional, UV reactive powder

Step 1: Picking Out Your Necklace Base

For this project, you'll need a necklace base. These come in countless shapes, sizes and colors, so check your local craft store or online for options.

Your base will need to have walls, think of it as a bowl to hold all the trinkets and resin in.

Step 2: Picking Out Your Decorations

You can add as many or as little decoration as you'd like, depending on the size and depth of your base the possibilities are endless. I choose to use mini charms from the craft store, but you can use whatever you'd like.

Helpful tip: always test your items in the base to make sure they fit before mixing or adding resin. You want to give yourself plenty of time to pay with designs and options before you prepare and add your resin.

Step 3: Preparing Your Resin

Now that you've got a design you like in your base, it's time to prepare the resin. I used ICE resin for this project. Prepare resin according to package instructions, different brands or different kinds of resin will have different mixing and curing instructions, so always read the product instructions carefully.

I then added a little bit of UV powder so my project will glow under black light, but this is a totally optional step.

Once you mix your resin, pour it into your base and let it fill to the brim. Make sure your project is laying flat the entire time, especially while it's drying.

Using a toothpick, pop any air bubbles.

Allow project to cure and harden for 24 to 48 hours, or per package instruction.

Step 4: Enjoy Your Resin Craft!

After your project is completely dry, add a chain or key-chain loop and enjoy!
