Introduction: Gravity Falls Robbie Valentino Cosplay Hoodie
Here is a Robbie Valentino Cosplay Hoodie I created.
Supplies
Black hoodie
Plastic folder folders
Masking tape
Red ink
Permanent magic marker
Step 1: Gravity Falls
For several years I was on a big Gravity Falls kick. The show is very well written and extremely entertaining. I started out several years ago doing a team cosplay at work. I dressed as Dipper Pines and built a large journal prop and my manager dressed as Mabel Pines and I made her one of Mabel's unique sweaters and a grappling hook gun.
Last year I hosted a Summerween event at the library where I worked. I created a Grunkle Stan cosplay.
In between these two event I created a Robbie Valentino cosplay that I deputed at Ohayocon and then pulled out again for Halloween.
Step 2: Hoodie Image Design
The most distinctive part of Robbie's look is a hoodie with the image of a scarred bleeding heart.
I did my internet research and cleaned up an images from a screen grab.
I then blew it up and printed it on a piece of 8.5" x 11" paper.
Step 3: Folder for Stencil
I was going to be making a stencil for the design. Instead of buying stencil plastic from a craft store I just went to a drug store and bought a plastic folder for under a dollar.
I disassembled it and had an 8.5" x 11" sheet of plastic to use.
Step 4: Stencil Creation - Part One
I then just used a glue stick to glue the design onto the plastic.
Step 5: Stencil Creation - Part Two
I then cut out the stencil. I cut a chunk out with a knife and then trimmed the rest with scissors.
I decided against meticulously cutting out the dripping heart section and made it just one large piece. I would draw in the details.
Step 6: Ink Application
Unfortunately I do not have any photos of this process.
I taped the stencil onto the hoodie with masking tape.
I then took a sponge and dabbed red silkscreen ink that I had bought at a craft store onto the stencil.
I have used this technique before but had always just used acrylic paint. I decided to use actual ink this time hoping it would be smoother. The acrylic paint always dried super stiff.
The ink dried just as stiff.
Oh well.
I used a black Sharpie to draw in the separation of the drips and the scar on the heart.

Step 7: Final Hoodie
I found a hat and a shirt for a co-worker to dress up as Wendy and and I had another duo Gravity Falls cosplay.
