Step 1: Making the Dye
Place one egg dye tablet in a cup. Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and let tablet dissolve. After the tablet is fully dissolved, add 1/2 cup of room temperature water. Stir throughly. Repeat process, until you have a variety of egg dyes.
Step 2: Adding the Eggs
Place rubber bands in a criss-cross pattern, on hard-boiled eggs. Gently place eggs in dye.
Step 3: Alternative Dye to Marble Eggs
An alternative dye, is to place 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in dye. This will create a marbled pattern, on the exterior of the shell.
Step 4: Removing the Eggs
After 30 minutes, remove the eggs from dye. Place eggs on cardboard to dry. Remove rubber bands after eggs are dry.
