Introduction: Rubber Band Powered Car
Design thinking is the process of a way to fix a problem in a creative way.
Design thinking is important when designing because if you have a problem and you want to solve it, if you use design thinking there will be more ways to fix the problem and they may even be better solutions.
My design is a car that moves with a rubber band and with a little force from the user.
Materials: 4 pencils, popsicle sticks, glue, rubber bands, CDs.
Supplies
Glue, CDs, popsicle sticks, pencils, rubber bands.
Step 1: Make the Base.
Empathy is knowing how other people feel and what they are thinking and putting yourself in other people's shoes. This fits with design thinking because you need to put yourself in your user's shoes and look at what you can do to make the product better. My parents are my users. the drivers and constraints are Easy to use. Easy build. Automatic.Resistant. Light weight.
Step 2: Add the Wheels.
for this step, you need to add pencils and CDs to be the wheels for the car.
Ideation is the process where somebody generates ideas such as sketches.
Step 3: Add the Last Set of Wheels.
in this step, you will have to add wheels to the back part of the car.
There was a long process for the making of my design.
1: I had to find a user and interview him to know what the design was going to be like. after that, I had to make the main idea of what it was going to be about, my user and I decided that he wanted a car that moved made with popsicle sticks. then I had to go through the ideation process to figure out a bunch of designs and figure out which one would work best. after that, I had to start building. while I was building I had a few problems that messed up my car. so I had to talk with my user and make some changes. then I kept building until I found the best thing that would work the best way. and then I finished and I had to test it a bunch of times and it worked, so I stayed with that design.
