Introduction: Safety Pin Earrings
I've seen a few ways of making safety pin earrings on the internet, but they are all just trimming off the sharp ends and cleaning then to make them "safe" for your ears.
But the problem is, i can't wear any earrings unless they are made of silver or gold. I know thats quite common, so this is my way of making safety pin earrings anyone can wear.
**sorry for the terrible pictures i'll redo them if i have time.

Step 1:
What you will basically be doing is replacing the original wire with silver jewellery wire, so the first step is to remove the wire.
Open the safety pin so you know which side to undo. Use pliers to peel back the metal and remove the pin, you should just be left with the little metal bit on the end.

Step 2:
Straighten out the wire and use it to measure a piece of silver wire the same length. Make sure you have either sterling silver (92.5% silver) or fine silver (99.9%) wire and not silver plated wire because that can have nickel in which a lot of people are allergic to. Also make sure the wire can fit through your ears before you bend it. I used 0.8mm (uk) and it worked but i wouldn't use any thicker.
Next you need to bend the wire into the shape of the safety pin. The easiest way i found for this is to grip the middle of the wire with round nose pliers and bend each side around to the front.

Step 3:
I filed one of the ends next because i wasn't sure how smooth the cut was, and when you've done that all you need to do is fix the wire back into the end.
I found that it was easier to just use it straight and fold the metal around it although the original wire is bent when you take it out. A dot of glue might help to keep it in.
Done :) i hope you like it
