Introduction: Saucy, Mocha Cake Pudding

Every once in a while you feel the Urge to break out Nana's old Recipe box.

40 years of Love goes into one of our Family's Favorite Desserts.

Warm, Chocolate coffee cake with a Thick, Gooey, Mocha sauce on the bottom. This is a Classic Desert in our home; I hope it will be one of yours too :)

Step 1: Mix Ingredients + Preheat Oven

Begin by Preheating you oven to *350

Bring 1½ cups of water to a boil for a later step (¼ cup will boil off leaving 1¼)

In a Bowl, mix

  • 2 Cups AP-Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Instant Coffee granules
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Slowly whisk together until blended then add,

  • ½ Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Milk

Mix with a wooden spoon until blended with no lumps.

Pour mixture into a 1½ L Casserole Dish and Sprinkle over the top,

  • 1 Cup Sifted Cocoa
  • 1 Cup Sugar

And pour the 1¼ of boiling water over the top.

Step 2: Bake & Enjoy !

Bake @ *350 for 30-35 Min

*Be sure the Oven is up to temp and the water is boiling or the cake will not fully cook through.

As it cooks, the Mocha-Cake will form of the top and the Saucy-Pudding will sink to the Bottom.

By now your Kitchen should Smell Amazing !

Test the Cake by inserting a knife into the upper portion.If it comes out clean you're Good to Go.

Best Served Warm, with a Good scoop of Vanilla Ice-Cream :D
