Introduction: Sculpting a Longhorn Steer Skull
One my son in laws is an avid Texas fan so for Christmas last year I carved him a longhorn steer skull.

Step 1: I Started With the Horns
The first part of this carving were the horns. Then glued up and roughed out the skull.
Step 2: Keep Looking for the Skull “within”
Once I had the skull roughed out I began carving, using all the tools I had to make it as easy as I could.
Step 3: Keep Looking for the Shape of a Skull
Again using everything I could think of to continue making the shape of a skull I used. Adding details helps it to look more like a longhorn steer skull.

I wasn’t happy with the eyes of the skull so I made a move that could have ruined the entire project.
