Introduction: Small Garbage Can

Where is the garbage can when you need it near your desk? Now there is one that you can hang from a drawer knob or place on your desk.

Step 1: Materials

A potato chip can

Acrylic paint of your choice (not pictured here)

Scissors

Electrical tape or duct tape

Ruler

Marker

Pencil

An old bangle bracelet

Step 2: Giving It a Shape

I painted my potato chip can with black acrylic paint, to give contrast to the electrical tape that I had available at home. Once dried, I made some pencil markings 5 inches away from the bottom all around the can and then I used those markings as a guide to wrap the electrical tape.

Then I made 4 marks on the can's edge and cut straight down just before the white tape wrapping.

Step 3: Make It Fancy

Using those cuts as a guide, I shaped each section as a "gothic window" and then I covered those pointy sections with electrical tape.

Step 4: Decorate and Show It Off

I curled every pointy section with the help of a thick marker, decorated the white tape drawing some flowers with permanent marker and as a final step, I used an old bangle bracelet to hang the can to a door knob.

I found this can to be useful to throw small bits of garbage, but also found it very cute to use as a pencil holder.

Note: (I took these photos when I created this craft 3 years ago and my daughter made a video for her YouTube channel. One year later she deleted her channel but I kept the footage and some of the photos. It would be a pity not to show and share this easy craft).
