Introduction: Smart Traffic Lights for EMERGENCY Vehicles
In India there is no option in traffic lights to give way to emergency vehicle which is being implemented in this project. This will help to reduce the daily task of the traffic policeman and also provide easy way to the Ambulance or Emergency Vehicle regularly as there is no technique for this in Indian Traffic Lights..

Step 2: Circuit Diagram
One circuit diagram is for the traffic light system and other one is fir the ambulance circuit.
Step 3: Video for Easy Implementation
Here the traffic lights and the emergency vehicle are connected wirelessly by R F technology which has the range of 10 meter and we can increase the range by using other wireless technology like Zigbee.
Step 4: CODE
The code is designed in EMBEDDED C
Step 5: Power Supply Design
The voltage requirement for the project is DC supply of 5 V for transmitter ambulance and the traffic light.
it is designed using step down transformer of 0 9 v and the bridge rectifier made of diode IN 4007, capacitor of 1000uf and regulator 7805. You can also 5V DC adaptar or battery based supply if you required and in the ambulance 4.15 V rechargeable battery is also used to make it a mobile unit and it is properly working using the above mentioned battery.
Step 6: Ambulance Section
There should be some signal from the ambulance or emergency vehicle that if they want the way or not.
So 434 Mhz frequency is used to wirelessly transmit the signal and there are switches on the ambulance for confirming the direction of Emergency Vehicle whether it is coming from North direction or any other section like here I have mention "A" on Switch provided on Ambulance and also on the traffic lights
Step 7: Microcontroller Section
The controller IC used here operates the traffic light and also receive the data from RF module and operate according to the requirement
Step 8: Traffic Light Section
These are the normal traffic lights but special alphabets like "A" and other are mention on it and similarly on the Emergency Vehicle to indicate them which switch to press. In practical this can be implemented by using boards which will display these alphabets.
