Intro: Soda Can Whistle

Here is how to make a LOUD whistle from a soda can

STEP 1: Supplies

All you need is a pair of scissors and a soda can

STEP 2: Cutting the Can

Cut the top and bottom off of the can. Then cut a line right down it You should have a sheet of aluminum. Cut a 3/4 of an inch by 2 inch and a another 1/2 of an inch by 1 1/2 inch out of the sheet. After that you should have a lot left over.

STEP 3: Folding

Put the small piece of aluminum on top of the big piece it should look like a cross shape. Bend the smaller piece around the bigger piece. Then bend the bigger piece 1/4 of an inch over the smaller piece. bend the end of the big piece to a right angle. Bend the excess piece into a p shape that lines up where the air escapes after blowing through the mouth piece.

STEP 4: Using

Be for you using it for the first time stick sum kind of a wedge in it to make the mouth hole bigger. Hold the loop with thumb and index finger and then blow like a normal whistle.
If it will not work make sure that the mouth peace is lined up with the loop.

Anyways, I made it! Love it! Very loud, and a fun skill to have. :)
I made the video but It will not let me.

Can you post the video on youtube? I'm also one of those folk who find it difficult to follow pictures. Wish I was better at that......

Take two beer bottle caps, make a notch on the crown shaped part, glue those to the side of your whistle (some measurement before is recommended).

Voilà: no need to use your fingers to close the sides and a sturdier structure

This works great. Definitely going in my survival kit.

This sounds like alot of fun to make. However I find the picture to be confusing. Is there any way you could post a short video of the making process. Thanks
