Introduction: Solar Cooker

Solar cookers are a good way to cook food without using large amounts of fuel. As long as the sun is shining they can cook almost any food for short or long periods of time.

Step 1: Gather Materials.

You will need:
1 small box
2 three foot pieces of tinfoil
2 wooden rods
3 pieces of black paper
1 plastic bag
1 thermometer
1m of tape/duck tape
foodstuffs

Tools you will need:
Scissors
Glue

Step 2: Cut the Box

From the top/front of the box cut out a flap. Leave a small gap between flap and side of the box. Cut off the flaps from the side of the box.

Step 3: Cut Up Black Paper

Cut up the black paper to match each side of the box, you do not need to cut out a piece for the flap.

Step 4: Line Black Paper

Place the black paper inside the box and secure to the sides. You can use tape or glue.

Step 5: Line the Flap

Use tinfoil to cover the flap. Make sure the foil is as flat as possible. Secure the back of the foil with duct tape.

Step 6: Create Holds

Use the wood rods, one on each side to hold the flap in place. Use duck tape to secure the rods together.

Step 7: Line the Box

Line the inside if the box with tinfoil, use tape to secure to the sides.

Step 8: Bag Thermometer

Bag the thermometer and foodstuffs together and place them in the box. You might want test with just a thermometer before cooking food to see how long your food should be cooked.

Step 9: Enjoy

Eat the food that you cooked or redesign the cooker to work even better.
