Introduction: Solar-Powered Jack-o-lantern
I am making a Solar-powered jack-o-lantern for the Autumn season. I wanted to do this because ever year we put candles in our carved pumpkin an it works but the candle burns out super quickly an the jack-o-lantern isn't very bright. So I thought if I make a solar-powered jack-o-lantern then we wouldn't need to worry about candles an the jack-o-lantern would be lit up all night and would turn on an off by itself when it starts getting dark an light out.
Supplies
The materials needed for this project are listed down below:
- a pumpkin.
- a pumpkin carving kit or knife.
- a solar powered outside light.
- Gloves (optional)
Step 1: Starting the Process
The start of carving the pumpkin! First you have to cut the top off of your
Step 2: Icky-nasty Part!
Now you need to get all of the inside of the pumpkin out before you care it. Something else you can do with the seeds of the pumpkin is cook them as you are carving so when your done you can have a tasty treat when you are done.
Step 3: Carving the Pumpkin!
You can pick your design of your pumpkin/ what you want to carve into your pumpkin. Now you can start carving! My dad helped with the drawling part of this so you can get a friend or someone to help draw the face or whatever you want onto your pumpkin.
Step 4: Putting the Solar-powered Light In.
You will use the solar-powered light as the top of the pumpkin now instead of the actual top of the pumpkin. If the light is to big cut the top so that you can put the light inside of the pumpkin. It should look like the picture above.
Step 5: Enjoy Your Solar-powered Jack-o-lantern
Now all you need to do is put your jack-o-lantern outside an watch it glow at night!
