Introduction: Solar Powered LED Origami Flower Vase
I made an origami flower vase with a bunch of paper lilies (54) with LEDs in the center. Each LED is attached to a twisted pair of wires that connect it to a rechargeable battery in the base (the wires also act as the flower stems). The battery is charged via a solar panel. The battery, circuitry, and solar panel were scrapped from a trashed solar powered garden light, and the flower pot is a combination of an old glass vase, some tupperware, and a soda bottle.
Previously I had made a few individual LED origami flowers powered by watch batteries, and this just seemed like a natural extension. It also works out conceptually because real flowers need the sun to be pretty and so do these paper ones (art, lol).
