Introduction: Solar Pumpkin Stakes
I have a very long driveway and don't usually decorate because there is no electricity there. I do however, have snow sticks along both sides of the driveway. Since the snow sticks have already been put up for this winter I decided to decorate them for Halloween by turning them into lighted pumpkin stakes.
These stakes are extremely easy to make and very cheap.
Materials: (for 1 stake)
2" x 2" x 4' stake - We have used these stakes for a few years, not sure how much they cost but they weren't expensive.
Trick-or-Treat pumpkin - $1
Solar landscape light - $1 at the Dollar Store
Duct Tape- couple bucks for a large roll
screw
drill
sledge hammer

Step 1: Step 1
Drill a hole off center. The hole on my pumpkins was closer to the front but centered from left to right.
Step 2: Step 2
Pound the stake into the ground with the sledge hammer.
Step 3: Step 3
Put the solar light in the pumpkin. The post on the light should stick out of the pumpkin a couple of inches until it's flush with the top of the pumpkin.
Step 4: Step 4
Duct tape the light post that's sticking out of the bottom of the pumpkin, to the wooden stake.
Step 5: Step 5
We added a screw to the center of the pumpkin so better secure it to the stake.
Step 6: Final
Here is what the stakes look like.
