Introduction: Spectre 10/22 Chassis Assembly
This tutorial will show you how to assemble the Spectre 10/22 Chassis
Supplies
1x - Spectre 10/22 Chassis
1x - 10/22
1x - Barrel wrench
1x - Workbench / work area
Step 1: Unboxing
The first step is unboxing your chassis. Inspect the chassis for damage and ensure everything listed on the back of the box is included. A complete list of hardware can be found on the back of the box.
Step 2: Mounting the Handguard
Using 2 M5x8mm screws, 1 M5x14mm screw, and the 3mm L-Key mount the handguard to the chassis core. The 8mm long screws are used on the sides, the 14mm long screw is used on the bottom.
Step 3: Attaching the Grip Mount
Using a 1/2" #12-24 screw and the 5/32" L-Key to attach the grip mount to the chassis core.
Step 4: Attach the Trigger Gap Filler
Using the M4x14mm screw and 2.5mm L-Key to attach the trigger gap filler to the grip mount.
Note, the design of the gap filler was updated in December 2022. Your trigger gap filler may look different, but installation is identical.
Step 5: Install the Grip
Using the hardware included with your grip, secure the grip to the chassis. The grip should fit snug. Consult your grips manufacturer instructions for more details.
Step 6: Install the Stock
Thread your Mil-Spec or Commercial buffer tube into the chassis.
Chassis sold sold after January 1, 2023 include an M4 set screw to lock the buffer tube in place. If you have the updated chassis lightly tighten the setscrew to lock the buffer tube in alignment.
Tighten the buffer tube castle nut to 60 no more than 60 ft-lbs.
Note: Blue Loctite may be used on the buffer tube, set screw, and castle nut if desired.
Step 7: Install RSS Threded Receiver Pin
Remove the rear receiver from your 10/22. Install the threaded pin. If it does not fit, don't worry, go on to the next step. DO NOT HAMMER THE PIN INTO THE RECEIVER.
Step 8: Fit the RSS Threaded Pin to Your Receiver
The RSS threaded pin is designed to be fit snuggly to improve accuracy. You might need to size it to your action. Using a drill and sand paper simply sand down the pin until it fits. DO NOT HAMMER THE PIN INTO THE RECEIVER.
Always verify to make sure your 10/22 is unloaded.
Step 9: Install Barreled Receiver
Place your barreled receiver into the chassis. Install the 3/4" #12-24 screw into the front take down hole using the 5/32" L-Key. Thread the M4x8mm screws into the RSS threaded pin using a 2.5mm L-Key.
Always verify to make sure your 10/22 is unloaded.
Step 10: Snug the Receiver Stiffing System (RSS)
Using both 2.5mm L-Keys tighten the M4x8mm screws that are threaded into the RSS threaded pin.
Step 11: Finished
You have completed the assembly of your Gen 2 Spectre 10/22 Chassis. Enjoy!
