Introduction: Spooky LED Eyes
Hello!
This is a little project to build a funny little ghost with spooky glowing LED "eyes" that shine in dark corners of the house for the days around Halloween.
Supplies
- ATtiny13A (DIP8)
- Mini ATTINY Micro USB Development Programmer Board
- USBASP AVR Programmer
- 2 x 3mm LED
- 1x 1kΩ Resistor
- 1x 10kΩ Resistor
- Light Dependent Resistor (LDR)
- CR32032 Battery
- CR32032 Battery holder
- Tesa Adhesive Putty

- 3d printer (to print the hollow ghost statue)
Step 1: Flash the ATtiny13A
To program the ATtiny, for me this guide was very helpful.

Step 2: Test the Circuit
It would be a good idea to test the circuit before soldering to make sure the ATtiny was flashed correctly and it is working as expected.
For this I used a breadboard, jumpers and a 18650 battery board for power.
Step 3: Print the Hollow Ghost Statue
The 3D Model can be found here (many thanks to the author!).
I have printed it using amazon basic neon orange translucent PLA that allows the light from the LED's to be diffused thru the head of the ghost.
Step 4: Solder the Components
Following the schematics, solder the components around the microcontroller.
Since there is plenty of space inside the ghost head, there is no need to be too much worried about making everything very compact.
Step 5: Place Everything Inside the Ghost and Turn Off the Lights
Carefully place the whole assembly inside the ghost and glue the battery holder on the side.
Turn off the lights and wait for the LED's to glow.
If all is working well you can now hide the little ghost in some dark corner where nobody expects to see it.
