Introduction: Stick&Strip

This t-shirt is designed for children (from 5 to 8 years old) who are learning how to dress themselves without any help or children who can’t use an arm. It’s very useful and easy to do so let’s get started!

Step 2: CUT THE MODELS

We created on inkscape the following model, that is a classic t-shirt:

Using the Laser Cutter, cut the model. Remember to use high velocity and low power (it depends by the Laser Cutter that you are using).

*If you don’t have a Laser Cutter, you can print the model on paper and use it as a paper pattern.

Step 3: APPLY THE VELCRO

Cut the velcro in square shapes (2x1.5cm). With the help of the sewing machine, sew the square-shaped velcro to one lateral part of the t-shirt that we’ll leave open.

Step 4: SEW IT ALL TOGETHER

First of all you need to sew the shoulders then to sew the sleeves to the front and the back of the t-shirt with the Overlock. Then continue sewing the lateral part without the velcro starting from the sleeve. Remember not to sew one lateral part and of course to hem the product!

Step 5: APPLY THE COLLAR

Cut a piece of textile (5x36cm), bend it so that you have a circular piece of textile (look at the picture below). Then sew the collar to the t-shirt with the Overlock. Use some pins to fix the collar to the

product to sew easily.

Step 6: ENJOY YOUR NEW T-SHIRT

The t-shirt is finally done! Your child can now dress himself easily and on his own.

Step 7: OPTIONAL

You can also apply a breast pocket using the same textile or another to make the product more colorful!

-Using the following link made with Inkscape, cut the textile with the LaserCutter;

-Hem the pocket;

-Sew the breast pocket to the t-shirt.
