Introduction: Strawberry Shortcake

In this instructable, I will show you how to make Strawberry Shortcakes.

Step 1: Ingredients

You are going to need:

32 oz strawberries

1 c heavy whipping cream

2 3/4 c all purpose flour

4 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla

8 oz sour cream

1/2 c sugar

2 tbsp sugar

1/4 c sugar

3/4 c cold butter

2 large eggs

Step 2: First Things First

Wash your strawberries off, cut the tops off, then slice them.

Step 3: Grab a Large Bowl

Mix the strawberries and 1/2 c sugar in a large bowl. Cover and set aside.

Step 4: Grab That Trusty Mixer

Beat the whipping cream on medium speed until foamy.

Gradually add in the 2 tbsp of sugar until you have soft peaks form.

Place in the refrigerator.

Don't touch this or your strawberries for about two hours.

Step 5: Hungry Yet?

After the two hours are up, grab another bowl.

Combine the flour, 1/4 c sugar and baking powder together.

Now, blend in the cold butter using a pastry blender, two knives or your hands..just get it mixed in.

Step 6: Last Bowl to Dirty, I Promise!

Lightly beat the eggs, then add the vanilla and sour cream.

Step 7: Grab a Spoon

Combine the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stirring them together with a spoon.

Step 8: Up to Measure?

Spray a 1/3 measuring cup with non-stick cooking spray.

Fill the measuring cup with the dough, then remove the dough and form into a ball, placing on a baking sheet.

Step 9: Bake!

Bake in an oven that's been preheated to 450° for about 12 minutes, or until they are golden.

Step 10: Can Hardly Wait...

Remove from the oven, cut the shortcake in half, top with the strawberries and cream.

Step 11: Enjoy!
