Introduction: Stress Relief Bathbomb

What You Need:

  • molds for bathbombs
  • Medium to large mixing bowl
  • two small bowls
  • spray bottle
  • spoon
  • spatula or spoon for whisking
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp of epsom salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/4 cup citric acid
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • witch hazel
  • liquid soap coloring
  • essential oils: stress away, lavender, peace and calming

makes around three medium sized bathbombs; change measurements as needed.

Step 1: Divinding Salts

Divide epsom salt into small bowls for how ever many colors you plan to use (two colors, two bowls; three colors, three bowls).

Step 2: Add Your Coloring

Add one or two drops of desired soap coloring into each bowl and stir with small spoon right away to spread color. Put the salts aside while they absorb the dyes.

Step 3: Step 2: Dry Ingredients

Combine the baking soda, corn starch, and citric acid into the mixing bowl.

Step 4: Add Oils to Dry Mix

Whisk the mix together with spoon or spatula and add essential oils while stirring (3-5 drops of each depending on strength of smell desired).

Step 5: Add Coconut Oil

Add room temperature coconut oil to the dry mixture and evenly mix all the ingredients and work out any clumps that are formed.

Step 6: Witch Hazel

Pour witch hazel into small spray bottle.

Step 7: Forming the Ingredients

Gather mix and squeeze in hands. While doing this spray a generous amount of witch hazel on mix until it clumps together. Mix between each spray. This may take a little while for desired structure and texture.

Step 8: Add Epsom Salt

Add colored salts to the mixing bowl and stir together until evenly through out. Put some of the salts at the bottom of your mold for a more decorative look.

Step 9: Molds

Press mixture firmly into mold making sure all space is filled. Let the bathbomb sit for a few hours so it can form together.

Step 10: Final Step!

After a couple of hours have passed it is time to take the bathbombs out of their mold. Be very careful and gentle taking out the bathbombs, it can be easy to crumble if rushing or using too much force.

Step 11: Enjoy!

Fill your tub with warm water and drop the bomb in while the water is filling up. Enjoy your relaxing stress relief bathbomb!
