Introduction: Stuffed Animal Dress

I made a dress for my stuffed dog because I thought it would be cute and I was bored.

DC means double crochet

SC means single crochet

Feel free to share this with others, but if you make your own version please let people know who the original creator was.

Supplies

Stuffed animal to make the dress for. You can also use the same pattern to crochet a human dress, but you'll need a lot more yarn.

Step 1: Figuring Out the Size

Measure how wide the stuffed animal is at the widest point, mine is eight and a half inches.

Then crochet a ten by three square of DC and measure how many stitches per inch.

Step 2: The First Chain

Using what you figured out in Step 1 figure out how many stitches you'll need, chain that many, don't join it yet.

Step 3: Check the Chain

Now that you've made your chain double check the length, make sure it goes all the way around, if it doesn't add a few stitches and test again.

Step 4: Join the Chain

Making sure you have the chain all the same direction, join the chain together.

Step 5: The First Round

Chain three

DC around

Slip stitch the ends together.

Step 6: The Next Round

Chain one

SC around

Slip stitch the ends together.

Step 7: Repeat

Repeat steps 5 and 6 until it is long enough.

Step 8: Sleeve Prep

Mark where you want the sleeves to be.

Step 9: Sleeve Base

Chain from the front of the dress to the place on the back where you put the other marker.

SC across the chain and along the base between the chain.

Step 10: Sleeve Lengthening

Go all the way around until you reach to the paw on the stuffed animal.

Step 11: The Other Sleeve

Repeat steps 9 and 10 on the other side to make the other sleeve.

Step 12: Comment

Please leave feedback as to what would make this pattern easier to follow, other ideas for projects or tips on easier ways to do things, just please be nice.
