Introduction: Styrofoam Phone Stand
I made a styrofoam phone stand to have in your house and use when needed to hold up your phone and store other items like your headphones or chargers. This can be useful when watching a movie and not wanting to hold your phone yourself. I decided to use styrofoam because there have been many times when I get packages and just throw out the styrofoam, but I thought of a way to repurpose it.
Supplies
- Styrofoam
- Exacto knife (any cutting tool)
- Toothpicks or glue
- Ruler
OPTIONAL:
- Card stock paper
Step 1: Measure Styrofoam Needed
Depending on what phone you have these measurements may vary. You need three pieces of styrofoam, one base and two side pieces. It's best if you mark these pieces first.
Base - 6 by 6 1/2
Sides- 4 by 6 1/2
Step 2: Cut Styrofoam
Cut your styrofoam to fit your measurements. I used an exacto knife, but any sharp cutting tool you have will work.
Step 3: Put It Together
First, grab your base piece and place it down. Then grab one of your side pieces and glue that on the back edge of your base. If you use toothpicks, stick them on the side piece mid-way and then insert them into your base. Then grab your other side piece and angle it against the piece you just added.
Step 4: Optional: Decorate It!
To cover the visible glue you can decorate the phone stand. I used cardstock paper and cut it out to fit the phone stand.
