Introduction: Thai Basil Chiken
During the long periods at home I have been spending due to lock in place orders, I have started to cook more. One of my goals was to learn all of my mother's dishes that she cooks for family dinners that I love to eat. The recipe I will be sharing with you today is my mother's Thai Basil Chicken recipe that she cooks from time to time. It is a very nurshing meal and tasty. My family loves spicy foods so this is right for us and you too if you are also a fan of spicier foods. This recipe is not the easiest to make because it demands constant attention but it is quite rewarding after you're done.
Supplies
1 lbs ground chicken thigh
1 lbs ground chicken breast
6 limes
3 teaspoons of ginger
3 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 spicy peppers or 2 tablespoons hot pepper flakes
1 bunch fresh basil
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Equipment
Large saucepan
Spatula
Several cutting knives
Cutting board
Step 1: Preparation
1: juice the limes
2: finally cop the basil, ginger, and peppers
3: bring a pan to medium heat with a tablespoon of vegetable oil in it
Step 2: Preparing the Chicken
1: Add the chicken then flatten it out evenly over the pan then wait for it to cook on the bottom
2:flip the chicken over and start breaking it into smaller bits.
3: Repeat step 2 until all the chicken is broken into small bits and fully cooked
Step 3: Adding Flavor
1: Add the sugar, soy sauce, and lime juice to the pan then bring to a simmer.
2:Wait till most of the liquid is burned off
3: Add the ginger, basil, and spicy peppers/pepper flakes .
4:Wait for the rest of the liquid to boil off while mixing the pan
5: Continue to saute the mixture for a bit, then taste and decide if it needs more sugar or spice
