Introduction: Thumb Page Holder for Reading

This Thumb Page Holder is a simple yet effective tool designed to make reading more comfortable. Holding the pages open with just one hand helps reduce strain and makes reading easier, especially for long periods. I didn't want to spend money on something I could make for free using materials I already had. This project is both eco-friendly and functional.

Supplies

  1. Cereal box-style cardboard
  2. Glue (Mod Podge or similar)
  3. Scissors or craft knife
  4. Cricut machine (optional)
  5. Pencil for tracing
  6. Paper for decoration

Step 1: Cut Out the Template

  1. Use a Cricut or trace and cut by hand.
  2. Measurements:
  3. Length: 8.35 cm (3.29 in)
  4. Width (thickness of the finished holder): 1 cm (0.39 in)
  5. Height: 3.5 cm (1.38 in)
  6. Thumb hole diameter: 2.1 cm (0.38 in)
  7. Cut out about 10 identical shapes (or more for desired thickness).

Step 2: Stack and Glue Layers

  1. Stack the cutouts neatly and glue each layer together.
  2. Trim the edges as needed to ensure a smooth finish.
  3. Let dry completely before moving to the next step.

Step 3: Decorate

  1. Cover the assembled holder with your chosen decorative paper (I used newspaper).
  2. Glue the paper securely in place.
  3. Use glue for a secure, smooth finish (optional).

Step 4: Done!

Your Thumb Page Holder is now ready for use!
