Introduction: Traveler's Bookshelf

About: Freelance woodworker by nights and weekends.

Hello,6 months ago, my daughter graduated collage and moved to TX to work at a children’s hospital. I received a call from her about two weeks ago with the good news that she had some time off and was planning to come for a visit. I asked her if she needed anything for her apartment that I could make for her. She said, “just a little bookshelf for my nursing books”. I wanted to make a shelf that could be totally disassembled knowing kids have a tendency to move around for a while before settling down somewhere. I haven’t provide any explanation of process as I feel the pictures will guide you through. The first picture shows all the “sticks” I cut for the project. The dovetails were cut using a crosscut saw from Home Depot. There are two of the legs that are permanently due to the delicate dovetails. The shelf represent the letter in her first name Heather. Thanks for looking and appreciate any feedback.
