Introduction: Tribal Mask
Materials required
- airdrying clay (~200 grams)
- a curved surface to use as mould (alternate - newspapers can be arranged in a way that it can be used as a solid mould)
- rolling pin to shape the clay
- acrylic paint
Step 1: Making the Mask
make the base of the mask using airdrying clay after making a layer with a rolling pin
carve patterns on the model for adding features such as hair, nose, etc
add elements like eyes, nose, mouth using small pieces of clay
(make sure the clay has not hardened yet)
Step 2: Drying
let the clay dry and harden after the model is done
(typically takes about 1 or 2 hours for airdrying clay to dry completely)
Step 3: Painting
after the clay is completely dry, paint it as desired with acrylic paint
