Introduction: Vauxhall Opel Combo Corsa C Meriva Tigra Corsavan Gear Selector Mechanism Linkage Rod Repair Kit Instructions Install Guide

About: X8R is completely dedicated to providing high quality improved design vehicle components; correcting original manufacturers design faults or improving the lifespan of consumable vehicle components. We take the…

It is a common fault on these vehicles for a plastic push rod arm to wear and pop off on the gear selection mechanism; leading to gear shifting faults. Our replacement improved design push rod can be installed easily correcting this fault for the life of the vehicle. Providing a vast cost and time saving compared to replacing the complete mechanism which with the same inferior plastic rod would just fail again.

The Problem

It is common on these vehicles that a poor-quality plastic linkage on the gear selector linkage mechanism pops off causing vehicle gear shift faults.

The gear linkage mechanism on these vehicles situated between the gear selector stick and the gear box commonly fails. The mechanism as a whole is rarely the fault, but rather a push rod arm which is used within the mechanism. This is made of a poor quality Nylon; this operated on metal ball joints with no lubrication and as a matter of course the plastic wears down on the ball joint sockets leading to the rod popping off of the ball joint/s. This leads to the gear change related faults described herein.

Symptoms of the fault

Symptoms can include: Complete loss of gear selection, loss of certain gears, or loss of reverse gear. Often the mechanism will get stuck in one gear. Alternatively, gears can be selected but it is a struggle to get in to / shift gears. The fault can be identified by inspecting the mechanism where by it can be seen that the OEM plastic linkage arm has popped off of its ball joint/s.

Our solution

Our improved design metal push rod arm with metal ball joints very easily replaces the failed plastic part, restoring gear function for the life of the vehicle.

Our replacement push rod linkage arm allows you to replace just the component within the gear selector mechanism that fails without the cost and time consuming install of a complete replacement mechanism. Which if fitted with the same plastic push rod arm would just fail again.

Fitting a complete new mechanism is very time consuming particularly setting up the gears afterwards. Our improved design push rod arm simply push fits on and can be installed very quickly and simply, please check out our instructions guide / video.

Our part is vastly improved in design; featuring metal ball joints. There are retained with our unique locking pins and will never separate from the ball joints of the mechanism. Many customers note an improvement in gear changing quality due to the metal ball joints and the stiffer construction but the real benefit is the part will never pop off and cause issues like the OEM plastic part.

Our part unlike any other on the market also includes rubber grease seals so the ball joint can be lubricated and kept lubricated. A superior product designed for life.

You will receive

1x Linkage arm with metal ball joints and locking pins
