Introduction: Vintage Kids Record Wall Clock for $4.
Hello all! Today I wanted to share with you my favorite gift saving idea! I know you've seen this done a million times over on the internet but I think mine is unique in that it's made from vintage kids records that are usually very colorful and creative. I have one hanging in my son's room and give them as gifts to my friends who are expecting! It's a huge hit and super simple!
Step 1: What You Will Need:
- Vintage Kids Record (Can be purchased on eBay for as little as $2.)
- Clock Movement Kit (eBay for as little as $2.20)
- Jewels or Gems (optional)
- Glue dots to adhear Gems
That's all you will need! Yep! All those cute clocks on the internet that cost upwards of $40.00 can be made for as little as $4.20!!
Step 2: Put It Together!
Start with a clean and clutter free work space. Grab your Vintage Kids Record and clock parts and get to work! First put the clock back on first and next the nut on the front. Hands go on next and voila! You have a "ONE OF A KIND" gift for a very lucky kid!! Or for a very lucky retro friend!
If you want to make it even easier to read your new clock then add some little gems or jewels to the 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock spots along the record face with sticky dots. I find that the Jewels work best. It adds a little whimsy and sparkle to this wonderful little treasure
One of my favorite parts to this project is that it reuse's an obsolete record so that it doesn't end up in the city dump and also, if one wants to listen to the record all you need to do is take the little jewels off and remove the clock kit!! You don't glue anything on the record and therefore can enjoy this doubly!
