Introduction: Water Bottle Rocket

Today we are going to build a rocket out of things you can commonly find around your household.

Supplies

-One posterboard

- 2 one liter bottles

-Cardboard

-Writing Utensil

-Scissors

-Straight edge

- Manilla Folder

-Water

Step 1: Roll the Posterboard Around Your Two Bottles

Put your two bottles together end to end and roll loosely because your bottle will get bigger when compressed with air. Remember to use a fair amount of tape to secure.

Step 2: Making Fins

You will need to make 3-4 fins you can make them any way you want just remember these fins will affect your fight for better or worse. Mine starts with a width of 4 inches and goes up 3 inches before going slanted to 8 inches. Once you make one you can use it as a clone for the rest.

Step 3: Putting Fins on Rocket

When putting fins on the rocket try to spread them out equally on the rocket and make sure they are straight and well bonded to the rocket.

Step 4: Making the Nose Cone Part One

When making a nose cone I personally used a manilla folder but you can use anything. When making a nose cone you grab two corners (the long way) put them together and twist them into a cone shape. From there you can make it as pointy or as wide as you want. Don't forget to tape it so it doesn't lose its shape.

Step 5: Making Nose Cone Part Two

Next, we are going to cut the excess of the cone. A technique I used is putting the cone in the rocket upside down it will give you a line to trace then cut. It is better to leave a little more(About an inch or two) than the line because you can always cut more but not less.

Step 6: Put Cone on Rocket

Put your cone on your rocket and make sure it's straight and tape it to the rocket making sure it is fully secure. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 7: Decorate

That is it, lastly if you want to decorate your rocket at your own will.
