Introduction: Ways to Upcycle Your Wardrobe

Cutting, Sewing and Paint...

Step 1: You Will Need:

  1. sewing needles
  2. sewing thread
  3. lace edging
  4. fabric paint
  5. ribbon
  6. scissors
  7. fabric de-frayer (which is a bit like clear nail polish)
  8. fabric glue

Step 2: Start With the Items to Be Upcycled

Decide how you want to change them

Strappy top:

  • longer length and fancier along the bottom
  • thicker straps

Print top

  • more sparkle

Waistcoat

  • no lapels / collar

Step 3: Make the Changes

Strappy top:

  1. Sew ribbon to the straps to make them thicker
  2. Sew or use fabric glue to add lace edging along the bottom

Print top

  1. draw along some of the printed lines using black glitter fabric paint
  2. wait to dry

Waistcoat

  1. cut off the lapels / collar
  2. fix loose threads (where necessary) with fabric defrayer
