Wedding Guest Book

When it was time to work on the guest book for our wedding, I decided that I did not want the standard guest book that you can find in any craft store. I wanted to come up with something different and fun; an idea that we have not seen at the many weddings we have been to.

This guest book was one that I have never seen before. Although a little time consuming, it was so much fun to make and well worth the time! It's a fun twist on the traditional guest books that have been used for a long time.

Materials needed:

• Scrapbook box
• mini envelopes (there are different sizes to choose from)
• eyelets and washers
• scrapbook paper
• hammer
• eyelet tool
• scrapbook sheets (comes with the book)
• string
• glue or scrapbook tape
• ribbon
• three ring binder tape
• bookbinding tape
• hole punch

Step 1: Scrapbook

I didn't like the look of the 3-ring binder, so we removed it and removed the pages from the plastic sheets that are in normal scrapbooks. I purchased the 3-ring binder tabs and attached them directly to the scrapbook paper. I then glued the ribbon on the paper to hide the binder tape and to make it look pretty.

Step 2: Supplies

I have a Cricut cutting machine, so I bought paper from the craft store in our wedding colors and cut about 100 of them. The orange and pink cutouts are where people will sign or write messages. I also purchased black paper and cut circles out with my cutting machine.

Step 3: Attaching

The hole punch is for punching the holes in the envelope flap and the circles. I then attached the circles to the envelope with the washers and eyelets with the eyelet tool and hammer to flatten the eyelet.

Step 4: Putting It All Together

I took the string (in this case, bakers twine) and glued it to the front of the envelope. Then I glued 6 envelopes on each page with the flap up. The string will wrap around the circles to close the envelope once the colored papers are signed and completed for storage. I didn't want to end on an envelope page, so I decided to create a single scrapbook page as shown above. The pages are bound by bookbinding tape (black) and the last page is attached to the bottom of the book to keep everything in place.

I am so happy with how this guest book came out and I enjoyed the creating process!
