Introduction: Wood Pot Made Out of Rings
Ok, I'm not sure where the idea came from. Maybe when I was looking at the planter challenge somebody was standing behind me and put the idea in through my ear? Anyway let's grow some ear plugs. It's really simple.
Supplies
- 1x6 squares
- Scribe and pencil
- Drill and drill bit
- Scroll saw
- Sander
- Stain
- Paint brush
- Steady hands
Step 1: Watch Video
Step 2: Cut
Get your piece of 1x6 and cut it in to a square. That's 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" for most 1x6's. I'm assuming that if you used hardwood it would be a lot better? Maybe? If you tried let me know in the comments.
Step 3: Scribe
I used a scribe to draw the circles. Not perfect but I don't really care because it is just pine.
Step 4: Drill
I used a drill bit the same diameter as the scroll saw blade. In this case a 1/8 drill bit. Drill at every line. Make sure not to drill to close to other lines.
Step 5: Scroll Saw
I used a scroll saw to cut out the rings. Tilt the table to 5 degrees. Then cut around 90 percent of the circle and leave a tab to hold it on. Once you finished cutting all of them go around and cut the tabs.
Step 6: Sand
I used a power sander to sand down the rings.
Step 7: Stain
This is optional. It's pretty obvious what to do here. Let it soak in for a couple of minutes then wipe the excess off.
Step 8: Super Glue
I used some super glue to hold the rings together once they where in the right position.
Step 9: Figure Out What to Put in It
You could put anything in it: fruit, plants, seal it off to make a bowel, anything! But in this case we are growing HIGHLY valuable earplugs.
If you could follow, subscribe and vote it would be much very appreciated.
