Introduction: Wooden Dog
Wooden dog made by upcycled wood!
It can be of any sizes based on your preference and availability of materials, and your creativity for fun designs! You can come out with your own design first before looking for the off cuts or you can design the dog based on the off cuts available with you.
Step 1: Gathering Your Materials and Tools
Materials and Tools:
- Nails
- Hammer
- Wood off cuts
- Sandpaper
- Mitre Saw
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Wood glue
Step 2: Preparing the Off Cuts
Measure the size that you want for your dog and draw them on the wood. Use a Mitre Saw to cut out the wood if the size of the dog is small.
Wood pieces that you'll need for the dog:
- Head
- Body
- Ears
- Nose (Optional)
- 4 legs
- Tail
Step 3: Sanding
Sand all the wood pieces with sandpaper to smoothen out the surfaces and the rough edges.
Step 4: Assembling the Wood Pieces
- Apply wood glue to one side of the wood piece and attach to another according to your design. You can wipe away the excess glue while they're still wet.
- Use hammer and nail (or nail gun) to hold the 2 pieces together while the glue dries. Make sure to not nail too close to the edge of the wood pieces to prevent splitting the wood.
- When you're done assembling the pieces, you can use sandpapers 600 or above to smoothen out any more rough surfaces and edges.
- Annnndddd you're done! (Optional to finish with coating or stain.)
