A friend had asked if I could make some rustic looking drink coaster for them. I had never attempted it before but it sounded within the realm of what I was capable of! I selected a single ~6" diameter branch and went to work. The video above documents the steps that I took and the lessons I learned. Looking back I believe that anyone with a lathe should be able to repeat these steps and make as good, if not better coasters than I was able to. My friend was thrilled with how they turned out so I would call the project a success.
